Entre Sueños y Memorias
Entre Sueños y Memorias walks a fine line where it barely manages to separate between what is real and unreal. It represents a search for identity and explore´s life´s duality.
Most are melancholic pieces that allow for one to escape and confront life’s realities through the imaginary.
Technique: The flowers in these landscapes are not collage. Rather, they are individually created with acrylic and oil paint using a air blowing technique of my own creation. As you can imagine, it is a messy (the paint jumps and splatters all over the place) and time consuming process. After the flower has dried, it is quite difficult to remove actually. So the planning of this both dynamic and precise technique, made it quite the challenge in terms of composition.

Matera is a beautiful small old town in the south of Italy. Except for the added blue flowered tree, the image is of a place that is very much real. I was able to visit it thanks to an invitation from my mother in law, who loves to travel as much as I do.
A Cerulean Moment
60 x 80 cm
Originally done in acrylic in 2013, its possible I may have added oil as well when I updated this piece in 2017 to add the flowers.
A few years later, the tree trunk from Tangerine Shimmer was not to my liking. I had been approached by a friend to help with the construction of a new Catholic Church for Lindora in Santa Ana. In order to donate it, I updated this work and also changed its name to better reflect my feelings at the time.
This work was raffled or auctioned off by the church management and all funds used for its construction. Thanks to the many donations in time and money the Church has received mostly from the people from Lindora, I am happy to say the church is almost complete.
